On several occasions, I have had to clean up my children’s diets. Clearly, something was going on with them and causing moodiness, irritability, poor sleep, ups, and downs, skin issues, stomach issues, focus issues, you name it, they had it!
But what I have found and seen in our own family 99% of the time is that the problems can be resolved by changing up/clearing up their diet. No, I’m not saying that everything can be fixed by food, but I am saying that you could save yourself a lot of money and frustration by starting with food. You might be surprised how many times it turns out to be a food and a few changes here or there can just really put things back into the right order.
I am not a nutritionist or a doctor or have any expertise in this area at all. However, I am a mama of three and have, like most mamas, had to deal with illnesses and issues with their children. This is simply what has worked for our family.
How do we start? Our family starts with the elimination diet. This is a simple way to determine the triggers that could be causing your child some distress. The diet entails removing most allergens and triggers and then slowly adding things one at a time. The result is finding out which foods or combinations of foods may be the problems.
A few things to know are that this is not a quick process and takes some dedication.
But I will say the rewards are huge!
It is also important to note that just because you have to eliminate food for some time, doesn’t mean your child can’t ever go back to that food. It simply means you will be cleaning up the gut for a short time and getting your child back on track.
Like a reboot!
For our family, the process takes a few months. Here is the link to our family’s resource for the elimination diet and other resources I have found on the internet.

People of all ages can benefit by doing the elimination diet! Sometimes it confirms what you already know, but don’t follow; and sometimes you find out you need to stay away from something you always ate without giving it much thought.
Yes absolutely! Sounds like you’ve given this a try one or two times before!
