Simplify your children’s artwork

Have you ever struggled with what to do with all those piles and bins of your children’s art and school work? It can be tough to part with, yet none of us go back to those bins and admire the old creations. Let’s be honest; most of the time, we don’t even know where those bins are!

I decided to tackle these bins and boxes during quarantine, and here is what I did to simplify and honor these precious creations.

Step 1. Pull out all that glorious art and school work.
Step 2. Try and sort by the child and if you like by subject.
Step 3. Decide on a certain number of items you want to choose. I did ten per child.
Step 4. Take pictures of the art you decided to keep. I used my iPhone and then fixed the lighting and cropped them on the lightroom app.
Step 5. Download your pictures to Shutterfly or another online company.
Step 6. Create a book with the pictures and label them, so you know which child created them.
Step 7. Frame one or two of your favorites and display your new book!

Remember to recycle as much as you can and then throw all of it out. If this is too extreme, you could always allow yourself one box to save in the basement. But for me, I had not opened those boxes in 10 years, so to the trash and recycle, it all went.

Total PEACE!
