I felt like I was continually playing with the water proportions and timing when cooking rice in the instant pot. I think this ratio works well, and I hope it will be a staple in your home as well. I make lots at once and store it in a glass container for the entire week.
White Rice
Add 2 cups of rinsed white rice.
Next, add 3 cups of water.
Stir rice and water, and then pressure cook for 5 minutes with a manual release.
Brown Rice
Add 2 cups of rinsed brown rice.
Next, add 3 cups of water.
Stir rice and water, then pressure cook 21 minutes with a manual release.
It seems that rice should not be so difficult to time perfectly, but it is for me. I even have problems with my brown rice in my rice cooker! Any suggestions?
I don’t use a rice cooker so I would say try the instant pot and see if that works better. I think the trick is doing the quick release right away and giving it a stir. Let me know how it turns out! OX
