DIY $4 Dollar Store Montessori Sound Work!

Friends, it is time to hit the Dollar Store and get your homeschool supplies for this simple and affordable work.

Maria Montessori believed the young child was in the sensitive period for small objects. This means exactly what it says, that children love to work with small objects. This work introduces your 2-6-year-olds to the beginning sound that a word makes.

I bought all these supplies at the Dollar Store and spent in total $4!!!!

  1. 1 or 2 small wooden boxes in the crafting section.
  2. 1 bag of felt letter stickers in the crafting section.
  3. 1 package of small plastic animals in the toy section.

The directions are simple. Just place the one tiny animal to one beginning letter sound. Once you’ve chosen all your animals, you can either set the letters in the box with the animals or use two separate boxes. Keep this work on the shelf with your other language materials.

TADA! That is it!

*You could also use cars, trucks, and motorcycles.
