Boy, do I love my pantry! Okay, do I wish it was bigger and walk-in with beautiful hanging baskets that had wooden handles? Well yes of course I do. But, this simple pantry works perfectly well and has my heart.
If this momma of three teenagers can clean up her space and make it useful for the entire family, so can you. When your pantry is organized you will waste less and save more, now that sounds like good news!
Let’s get started.
- Take everything out and discard all expired food. Give the shelves a good cleaning and consider removable wallpaper for the back wall of the pantry. I saw someone do that and it was simply adorable.
- See what you have of each item or grouping. For example baking, grains, pasta, beans, can goods, fruit, vegetables, nuts, tea, and powdered drinks.
- Purchase mason jars of different sizes depending on your specific needs. I had lots of rice, oatmeal, popcorn, and flour. Therefore, I used the larger jars for these items. I’ll link below what I purchased and where.
- Begin to group items on the shelf as you transfer them to baskets and jars. Remember you want your most-used items at eye level.
- If you have little ones consider making a snack basket with their name on it and remember to keep that shelf low.
- Don’t forget to use those cool labels you bought or a paint pen on the jars to keep things organized.
It’s as SIMPLE as that! Get creative and get going, you’ll be glad you did.
